RESOLUTION 2026-01

RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF SHIP BOTTOM, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE OF 2026

WHEREAS, the Open Public Meetings Act of 1975, P.L. 1975, c. 231, requires municipalities to provide annual notice of the schedule of regular meetings for the coming year within seven days of the annual reorganization meeting;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Governing Body of the Borough of Ship Bottom, that pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq. all regular meetings of the Governing Body will be held in the Municipal Building, 1621 Long Beach Blvd., Ship Bottom, New Jersey. Formal action will be taken and closed sessions may be held.

2026 Meeting Schedule

Such meetings shall commence with a Caucus Meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the Regular Meeting immediately following, on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except where noted) according to the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, March 24, 2026
  • Tuesday, April 28, 2026
  • Tuesday, May 26, 2026
  • Tuesday, June 23, 2026
  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026

  • Tuesday, September 22, 2026
  • Tuesday, October 27, 2026
  • Tuesday, November 24, 2026
  • Tuesday, December 29, 2026

Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:45A-1, the Governing Body hereby sets the date of the 2027 Organization Meeting for Tuesday, January 5, 2027 at 10:00 AM, to be held at the Ship Bottom Municipal Building, 1621 Long Beach Blvd., Ship Bottom, New Jersey.

Regular Meeting Agenda

The agenda of the regular meetings, to the extent known, shall be as follows:

  2. Flag Salute
  3. Sunshine Law Announcement
  4. Roll Call
  5. Approval of Minutes
  6. Authorization to Pay Bills
  7. Disposition of New Business
  8. Disposition of Unfinished Business
  9. Attend to Correspondence

  11. Public Discussion
  12. Adjournment

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following newspapers are hereby designated as official newspapers of the Borough of Ship Bottom and this Resolution shall be published once in each of these newspapers:

  • Beach Haven Times
  • Asbury Park Press
  • Atlantic City Press

This notice shall be posted and maintained throughout the year on the bulletin board in the municipal building. No further publication of the regular meetings shall appear again until January of 2027.

Public Attendance and Special Requests

The public is invited to attend each and every meeting, except where an Executive Session Meeting would be held after correct notice is given. Notice of any special meetings shall be so posted and at least two newspapers shall be notified at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to such meeting.

Pursuant to Section 17 of the Open Public Meetings Act, anyone may request that advance written notice of any public meeting be mailed to them, upon prepayment of the sum of $10.00 per year paid to the Borough Clerk to cover the reasonable cost of handling and mailing. Such requests for notices shall terminate December 31, 2026 and a new request must be made for 2027.
